Biography (this is very likely to be out of date - best contact Jason directly to get the latest scoop!):
Jason is an Australian digital artist and effects specialist with 5 years formal
training. His adaptability to the ever-changing creative fields can be seen
in his strong background of film, fine arts, creative design and programming.
He co-founded a global (London, LA, Sydney, Brisbane, New Zealand) digital design
and software company JABcreative (which was subsequently raped by investors
-- but hey, I am not bitter) as well as the business backbone to contract work,
freakdesign, which has served as an outsource and resource portal for affiliated
creative artists.
He has worked locally and internationally as both a freelance and in-house art director producing creative design, film effects, print and multimedia for blue chip clients. Jason is currently enjoying long term employment in a local post production and multimedia company but still takes the time to create unique artwork for personal enjoyment and public exhibitions.
Jason is an advocate for good design and pushes the importance of relevant art and design courses from universities and secondary schools. To that end, he has been involved with student representative councils and boards for curriculum change. In addition to his current employment, he is a part-time educator at Griffith University - Queensland College of Art teaching a range of subjects from 3D animation to design for the internet..
Movie quote of the week:
"Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big old storm right in the eye and says, Give me your best shot. I can take it."
